Embellished Chemise

The undermost layer for costuming: the smock. This type of underwear was worn by both men and women throughout the Medieval and Renaissance period. The Fashion-Goddess.com smock/chemise is made of 100% cotton voile, or batiste and is edged with elegant contrasting trim on neckline and cuffs.

This light as air garment will make you feel like royalty throughout the day, and keep you comfortable by adding warmth, or wicking away your perspiration, keeping you cool.

Ladies, this is a must for your costume wardrobe...the chemise was worn to give an extra layer for comfort, as well as to protect the outer layers from perspiration and body oils which can damage clothing that is not washed after every wearing. Protect your garb...wear "underwear"!! It's washable!

The most Renaissance of colors, Rose, peaks from beneath the rich golden jaquard sleeves. Ensemble is completed with sheer cotton undergown, solid over skirt, dress, and bodice.

Inpired by the Master Italian artisans of the time, this ensemble is primo!

This is the "wear all weekend" ensemble. The under gown and dress are great for Faire days and add the bodice and over skirt for evening Court feasts...the under gown is a great sleepshirt, too!

Ghirliando Ensemble

Cotton jaquard over-gown and trim covered sleeves. Gown has deep V-neck and very full back with 5' train and laces at the sides.

Matching removable sleeves attatch with pearlized buttons and gold loops. Both gown and sleeves are lined in cotton.

The undergown has a Cotton blend brocade bodice with square neckline and features center front trim. Attatched to the brocade bodice is a contrast Cotton skirt and very full sleeves. Gown laces up back and has lavish trim along laces. Bodice is lined in cotton and filled with 1/4" fleece for shape, stability, and warmth.

Wear the undergown all day long (Yep, I'm saying that it's okay to run around in your "underwear"!!), and then add the over-gown and sleeves for the evening Feast and the following festivities. You'll be comfortable, and GORGEOUS!! You're guaranteed to have LOTS of serfs, and nobility alike, Bowing to your beauty!!!

This ensemble was based on a gown shown in The Visitation by Ghirlandaio, 1488-1493.

	Look magnificent in this ruff collared and cuffed shirt!! The voluminous body of this shirt is neatly gathered into the yoke and the truly luxurious sleeves gather into a cuff with button closure. The length is generous for even the most modest person, and should hit about upper-mid thigh. Wear it belted over your favorite tights, or under your most regal doublet and venetians...however you wear it: you will look devine!! 100% cotton with wood-like buttons (real wood doesn't wash well) is machine wash/dryable.
